To blink my eyes with him,
....and then and then....
- come close by close, bit by bit, as we murmured this and that :
To revisit notes, with him
…. and wittily reviewing eye to eye,
- little by little, nose onto nose, till I shrugged him apart :
To trail UP the stairs with him
....and thus and thus
- knit hands to hands, slack and tight, continuing on the chit and chat:
.
.
.
….and quitting DOWN those stairs …
as he sternly slit the clutches
- step by step and bit by bit - - -
...and claimed I omit every such ha-bit, with jestful spirit....
.
.
.… at those flight of stairs Today
.....I clutch to the raililings and commit to the split
...Yet Richter the tremor to erase the bit of bits,
'AS IF ' his murmurs of 'this and that' have blotted my being - brace and bit
....Just permit, O-thee-BIT, to re-fit the fate-zones once again a bit
...and give the stairs a nostalgic twist
......To tred with him- 'Bit and Bits' - ALLL OF IT ….
... A BIT, A BIT ....OBit !

ReplyDeleteBanhi Bhattacharya : so delicate...so touching...every "bit" of it.
ReplyDeleteSusmita Sengupta Profound!!! Life is a series of meeting and partings but how we treasure the Bit. The imagery is clear ,the language lucid . The use of alliteration effective.I like the compact style of writing.
